3. Editorial policy (§ 25 Mediengesetz)
mendsch provides information about its own offering: a platform that helps people in Austria find a suitable psychotherapist. The website's aim is to make access to psychotherapy understandable, low-threshold and self-directed. The content is not a political or ideological statement of opinion.
4. What mendsch is — and isn't
mendsch is a matching platform, not a medical treatment or healthcare facility. mendsch does not provide psychotherapy, diagnosis or medical advice. The psychotherapy itself takes place solely between you and the psychotherapist you choose; the treatment agreement is made only between the two of you. The respective psychotherapist is responsible for the content and quality of treatment.
The suggestions shown by mendsch are non-binding recommendations. Information in therapist profiles comes from the therapists themselves; mendsch checks their entry in the Ministry of Health's register of psychotherapists, but otherwise gives no guarantee as to the accuracy, currency or completeness of this information.
5. Not an emergency service
mendsch is not suitable for acute crises and cannot provide rapid help. In an emergency, please contact:
- Emergency number 144 (ambulance) or 112 (Europe-wide emergency number)
- Telefonseelsorge (crisis line): 142, 24/7, free and anonymous
- Rat auf Draht (for children and young people): 147
- Vienna Psychiatric Emergency Service: 01 313 30
